Getting your brand or client in the media is one thing, but tapping into consumer conversations around the world is an achievement many PR campaigns still aspire to.

Learn how three marketing experts have used grassroots tactics to turn people into brand ambassadors and deliver wide-reaching campaigns at our 11 August Networx, which looks at Buzz - PR and Word of Mouth Marketing.

We'll hear from Tourism Queensland's Danielle Coopman, who will reveal the strategy behind the Best Job in the World Campaign, which won the PR Grand Prix and Direct Marketing Grand Prix awards at the 2009 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

FBi Radio Board Member and Presenter Anna Burns will share the secrets of her 'Ask Richard' campaign, which inspired one listener to swim two-and-a-half miles to seek Richard Branson's support for the struggling independent radio station.

Sharyn Smith, CEO and founder of Soup, an agency that specialises in influencer and Word of Mouth marketing, will discuss how Soup worked with Key Social Organisers in Melbourne to reposition Toohey's Extra Dry amongst young adults from 'a brand my dad drinks' to 'a brand I drink'.

Our panel discussion will cover:

  • What makes something worth talking about
  • How to generate and harness positive word of mouth
  • Social networking for brands
  • The role for PR and viral marketing in the mainstream
  • Post-Buzz: How do you sustain interest and maintain momentum

Networx kicks off at 6.00pm, so please join us for a complimentary drink on arrival and networking until 6.30pm when the panel discussion and questions commence. Following the formalities, stick around for another drink and networking until 8.30pm, when the bar closes.

This event will sell out - as it has previously - so book online today to reserve your space!

Sharyn Smith

CEO & Founder, Soup

Prior to founding Soup, Sharyn was running the communication research business Pollinate, focusing on developing research solutions for clients to move outside traditional media. Sharyn developed her passion for the digital space 10 years ago as the New Media Analyst at Emap Digital in the UK, and later as Business Development Manager.

Soup sprung from the idea that the conversations people have with one another are far more important than the messages most brands fire at them through advertising.
