Whether you're a technology junkie who lives for the latest iPhone or someone who is still not convinced about Twitter, understanding what makes effective online communication is crucial to today's marketers.

Find out what it takes to get your brand noticed online at our 20 October Networx event, which will focus on Online Marketing. We'll hear from three of Australia's leading digital marketers who will talk about the latest trends to emerge, and how you can integrate these into your online and offline campaigns.

Our online experts are:

Nic Hodges, the Digital Creative Director from Clemenger BBDO Sydney. Nic was the brains behind the agency's recent Wrigley's Five social media campaign which saw consumers engage with the new gum brand by remixing content from online channels such as Twitter, Facebook and Flickr.

Julian Cole, a Digital Strategist at Sydney agency The Population, and a prolific blogger. Julian has worked on social media campaigns for Universal Music, Coca Cola, Foxtel, Cancer Council and Seek.

Ben Phillips, Senior Planner at Euro RSCG Australia, who has developed both global and local digital strategies for brands including Jacob's Creek, Clearasil, the Bacardi Express music tour, the Sony Centre in Australia and Whiskas.

Our panel will cover:

  • The latest trends in online communication
  • Developing digital and social media strategies
  • Pitching to bloggers and other online journalists
  • Choosing the right online platforms for your brand

Tickets are $60, which includes a complimentary drink on arrival, canapes and the chance to win fabulous lucky door prizes! So join us from 6pm at World Square Pub for an entertaining evening with plenty of networking opportunities and expert advice.

Speakers

Nic Hodges

Digital Creative Director, Clemenger BBDO Sydney

Nic comes from a background of product, web and graphic design, but at the heart of what he does is communication. He understands what makes effective communication online, how social currency is created, and where brands have a place in the online conversation.

He believes that technology will continue its acceleration and impact in our daily world, and offers the ability to make both our lives and work better.

Julian Cole

Digital Strategist, The Population

Julian is a Digital Strategist at The Population where he has worked on a number of social media campaigns for Universal Music, Coca Cola, Foxtel, Cancer Council and Seek.

Most people love Facebook but Julian takes the cake for commitment. In 2007, he spent a whole year writing an Honours thesis on Facebook Psychology. If that was not enough, he recently got a semi permanent tattoo of Facebook on his bum for a Facebook calendar shoot!

Ben Phillips

Senior Digital Planner, Euro RSCG

In his current role at Euro RSCG, Ben Phillips has created the global digital strategy for Jacob's Creek and the Australian strategies for Sony Centre and Clearasil. Previously he developed the online strategy behind the Bacardi Express music tour and is currently working on making a social network for cat owners for Whiskas.

Prior to joining Euro RSCG in 2008, Ben was at GPY&R / Wunderman for two and a half years.  He recently got back from giving a series of digital training seminars in the Middle East where he successfully navigated Ramadan without offending local sensibilities.
